Save the Columbus Day Parade
The Columbus Day Parade has been a staple in Metropolitan Detroit since the early 1900's. In recent years, about 1,000 or more area residents have lined the streets along parade routes on 12 Mile Road in Warren and most recently Romeo Plank in Clinton Township.
However, in 2011, the Columbus Day Parade is in jeopardy. Without the funding needed to put on the huge event, the parade will not occur for the first time in over 100 years.
A fundraising event to support the Columbus Day Parade will be held at Palazzo Grande on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at Palazzo Grande. A delicious spaghetti dinner with salad, meat, bread and butter, pop, and a cash bar is planned. Entertainment is still in the planning stages and more information will be available shortly.
Tickets are $20 per person or $35 per couple and proceeds will go to help fund this year's parade. Support our heritage and save this annual parade. The strength of the Italian Community depends on YOU!Top of Form
